Kristal Jabara was elected to her first term on the San Marcos City Council in November 2010.
In addition to her role as council member, she serves as the City’s representative for the League of California Cities.
Prior to her election, Jabara had been very involved with the City of San Marcos, having served on the San Marcos Economic Development Corporation from 2007 to 2010; on the Budget Review Committee from 2008 to 2010; and on the Planning Commission from 2009 to 2010.
In 2008, Jabara served as the spokesperson for the San Marcos Association of Residents and Taxpayers (SMART), a political action committee that worked to defeat the potentially devastating Proposition O measure on the November 2008 ballot.
